Let's Go On A Date! Your Treat.

Sometimes you have 30, 40 bucks in your wallet, but that person you have been eyeing asks you if you want to "hang". That could either mean, she thinks your friend is cute and needs to get in good with you to get in good with him/her....... or  maybe s/he is into you. Here are my Top 3 spots that are not only inexpensive, but they will also make you seem really interesting.

Location: 435 South Huntington ave, Jamaica Plain
Phone: (617) 524 2500
Directions: Either take the 39 bus to Moraine street or the Orange Line to the Stony Brook or Jackson Square stop
Price: $-$$
Ambiance: Hipsters trying to be fancy ( I think I saw a dog in there once). All ages.

This is a great place for a date. The lighting is just right, the music makes it seem like you are in a movie and it is the perfect soundtrack filled with all the best songs, that you don't hear on the radio because they are that good. The waiters and waitresses are somehow really good at noticing if it is the first date, they'll make sure to throw some jokes at you and even throw in an extra shot. The food is amazing. The burgers are to die for, regular and black bean burgers.... and so is the street corn.... FINE.. and so are the muscles with the chorizo broth. The bonus is that a nice portion of the food here is gluten free or vegetarian. The beef is grassfed . Whatever that means. All I know is that it is impressive. Also the cocktails while they are pricey (10 bucks) one of those and you'll be drunk for a day. PBRs, of course they are 3 dollars. It's what the hipsters drink. S/he will think you're hip. All you'll need next are a pair of black framed glasses.

Location: 80 Brighton Avenue
Tel: 617 782 8888
Directions: Allston (Take the B line or the 66 or 57)
Price: $-$$
Ambiance: Really awkward rap music sometimes, and a little Beyonce. Young Asian crowd.

Here is where you show your chopstick skills. Or maybe just the chopstick skills you practiced courtesy of YouTube an hour before the date. Ignore everything on the menu except for maybe the miso soup and combo platters. The combos come with a lifetime supply of meats, too many delicious veggies, and then you choose your own broth. You can each get your own for 15. Hot pot, or the act of boiling meat and veggies in a broth can seem hard. You will be beyond full, and it gives you a chance to experience the cooking of your meal and both being confused as to what are the right steps. The experience will never be forgotten. I promise.Your date will totally think you are cultured. Oh and if you are paying and the other wants to pay the tip, definitely sneak in the fact that you should get the green tea ice cream. It will blow your mind!

Location: 338 Newbury Street
Phone: 617 267 8688
Directions: Fenway (Take the green line to Fenway or to Kenmore)
Price: $
Ambiance: Hipster, Students, People who love breakfast  All Ages

EVERYONE LOVES BREAKFAST.  I try to make breakfast foods at least 2 of my 3 meals a day if not all three. It's so cheap here, and its ALL DAY. Build your own Omelette for 8.50. Come On! A side of bacon won't hurt either. But they also have amazing cheap sandwiches of pretty much anything you want together for like 10+ dollars that come with fries and a pickle. Of course they have smoothies, fruit/veggie juices, bubble teas, beer and wine. It's pretty much like heaven. That's all I'm saying. Oh! And there are books everywhere. There's no better conversation starter than, "what's your favorite book?"
